No longer just gums!

Attempting to capture his new teeth on film is ironically like pulling teeth

The one on the right has been working its way out for about a week now, and just yesterday in this picture (you may not be able to see) his second tooth is popping up right next to it!

Where's the laundry? I want to help!

Best containment ever! Especially after the accident last week where he fell off our bed. Mother of the Year, right here.

New sippy cup, inspired by his love for drinking out of cups. We'll figure it out eventually, but he does love to chew on it. Easy to please!

Oatmeal with a Side of Squeal

Could be the newest problem....or the cutest. All he wants to do at breakfast time the past two days!

Weekend of Fun

This past weekend was a busy one. My mom and her fiance were visiting and we also celebrated our niece's first birthday! We hadn't seen my mom since Christmastime, so there was a lot of snuggling to catch up on (with her and Steven, ha!). We had a nice weekend, just hanging out and spending time together.

Ah, I needed my Nana!
Lots and lots of playtime!
Nana loved letting him "drink" from a cup. He gets really excited and loves to "drink" from cups, but doesn't know how to swallow anything that comes out of it!
Super cute Hungry Caterpillar party. I don't think she got enough stuff!
Birthday girl Lila and her Grammy
DELICIOUS food!! Friend Dwayne made all of it...amazing spread!!!
Loved her cake!
Party girl almost partied out!
I can't believe my little niece is one, it feels like just yesterday that she was born! We love you Lila Rae!

6 months!

Wow...6 months. This month has been so exciting! Every stage we hit I think that it's my favorite. We are having so much fun! He can now sit on his own, with some light supervision. He rolls all over the floor, and has been getting up on his hands and knees and rocking....hopefully crawling any day now! He has started pulling his socks off his feet and eating the socks, so we don't do socks much anymore. He loves to talk, squeal, blow raspberries, and play. He also loves to eat! He can eat sweet potatoes, green beans, and our new fave....prunes! Of course he still loves his oatmeal, too.

New stats from the peds appt this morning : 18 lbs 3 oz, 27.5 inches long. Both of these are 75th percentile, which is where he has consistently been! Gotta love my growing boy!

My dad also came to visit for a day...we had fun with Grandad! He got to come to the peds appt and have fun watching him getting his shots. :(
Showing off his new tricks

Loves to roll until he can't anymore

Grandad came to visit!

Off to College We Go!

Earlier this week we went to visit my sister Christine at college for the first time. She is a freshman at Lycoming this year, studying psychology. Me and the babe drove out there on Monday (our first road trip without daddy!) and met up with my other sister Jenna at our hotel, then met up with Christine and her boyfriend Cody. We spent the next two days hanging out, eating good food , and we got to tour the campus as well. Lycoming is small (especially when you're used to Pitt!), but such a wonderful campus. It was also Christine's 20th birthday, so we had a fun occasion to celebrate. We had so much fun together, and the baby hadn't seen his aunts since Christmas! It was hard work with the baby by myself for 3 days out of town, especially in a small hotel room. It went well, though, and I'm looking forward to our next visit!

Loving his Aunt Christine!

Beautiful Birthday Girl!

With Aunt Jenna...she actually let me take her picture!

So funny....he was squealing with delight and playing in front of the mirror.

Babies R Us threw up in my house

It's been awhile since the last post, so here's a few pics from the last week or so. He gets funnier and cuter everyday! I think we are in full blown teething mode now, which is soooo NOT fun, but hopefully he will cut a tooth soon here. Gotta love the milestones! Oh, and as a shout-out to the title of this post, my house is seriously bursting at the seams with baby crap. I don't think it's ever going to get better, at least in the next,oh, 20 years? Oh, motherhood.

Didn't know which toys to pick, so we had them all out. He loved it!

Big boy in his new sneaks,  but they made him angry when he couldn't get the whole shoe in his mouth.

We had a few nice days here in the burgh, so we got to finally get out of the house for a walk. It was the first time in the stroller without the infant seat, and it was a hit!

And we fell asleep on our walk. You can't see this in the picture, but he had each of his hands on one of his toys. So sweet.

First time in the high chair! Also a big hit.
Like father, like son.

Man VS Spoon. Still not sure who won that one.

So close to crawling! He pulls up his knees now and squirms all over.

Love this sweet, sweet face!

First day of sweet potatoes. HA. Not a hit. He spent most of his time gagging himself.

Playdate with Amanda and Luke! The boys were cute together...they are only 3 days apart and look like they could be related. Its funny how different their personalities are, too!

5 months

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Time is flying! It's so hard to pinpoint exactly what changes with him everyday, but he just seems so much older. We introduced cereal and the exersaucer this month, and the exersaucer was the biggest hit. (Pictures below) We had to switch from rice to oatmeal cereal, and he does seem to enjoy eating from a spoon finally. He is starting to try to sit by himself (also below) and can do this for a few seconds before he folds himself in half and balances that way. This is a great position for him, since he does have a newfound love for his newly found feet! He loves talking, and he's been laughing more and more. He has started to love tummy time since he's been rolling from his back to his tummy, and now he squirms a lot when he's on his belly, making us think he will try to crawl soon. He's been a great sleeper this month, too. Good naps during the day and still sleeping all night! I have been blessed with a good baby.

I feel like I only ever talk about the baby, but life changes happen for me, too! I joined a MOPS group that meets in our community, so not only do I get out of the house but I have met several moms in my community, one living just down the street! Such a blessing!  It has been a struggle for me, especially during the week, when I am home a lot by myself, with my husband working late hours. It's so easy to feel isolated also when its winter and you can't go anywhere, and being a new mom is such an adjustment. I feel like it's also hard to meet new people, but God provided such an answer to prayer! I'm looking forward to getting to know some of the women.

Thanks, mom, but I'd rather eat from my bib, no spoon required.

I think this face says it all!

Ah, I can finally reach my feet!
