Babies R Us threw up in my house

It's been awhile since the last post, so here's a few pics from the last week or so. He gets funnier and cuter everyday! I think we are in full blown teething mode now, which is soooo NOT fun, but hopefully he will cut a tooth soon here. Gotta love the milestones! Oh, and as a shout-out to the title of this post, my house is seriously bursting at the seams with baby crap. I don't think it's ever going to get better, at least in the next,oh, 20 years? Oh, motherhood.

Didn't know which toys to pick, so we had them all out. He loved it!

Big boy in his new sneaks,  but they made him angry when he couldn't get the whole shoe in his mouth.

We had a few nice days here in the burgh, so we got to finally get out of the house for a walk. It was the first time in the stroller without the infant seat, and it was a hit!

And we fell asleep on our walk. You can't see this in the picture, but he had each of his hands on one of his toys. So sweet.

First time in the high chair! Also a big hit.
Like father, like son.

Man VS Spoon. Still not sure who won that one.

So close to crawling! He pulls up his knees now and squirms all over.

Love this sweet, sweet face!

First day of sweet potatoes. HA. Not a hit. He spent most of his time gagging himself.

Playdate with Amanda and Luke! The boys were cute together...they are only 3 days apart and look like they could be related. Its funny how different their personalities are, too!

5 months

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Time is flying! It's so hard to pinpoint exactly what changes with him everyday, but he just seems so much older. We introduced cereal and the exersaucer this month, and the exersaucer was the biggest hit. (Pictures below) We had to switch from rice to oatmeal cereal, and he does seem to enjoy eating from a spoon finally. He is starting to try to sit by himself (also below) and can do this for a few seconds before he folds himself in half and balances that way. This is a great position for him, since he does have a newfound love for his newly found feet! He loves talking, and he's been laughing more and more. He has started to love tummy time since he's been rolling from his back to his tummy, and now he squirms a lot when he's on his belly, making us think he will try to crawl soon. He's been a great sleeper this month, too. Good naps during the day and still sleeping all night! I have been blessed with a good baby.

I feel like I only ever talk about the baby, but life changes happen for me, too! I joined a MOPS group that meets in our community, so not only do I get out of the house but I have met several moms in my community, one living just down the street! Such a blessing!  It has been a struggle for me, especially during the week, when I am home a lot by myself, with my husband working late hours. It's so easy to feel isolated also when its winter and you can't go anywhere, and being a new mom is such an adjustment. I feel like it's also hard to meet new people, but God provided such an answer to prayer! I'm looking forward to getting to know some of the women.

Thanks, mom, but I'd rather eat from my bib, no spoon required.

I think this face says it all!

Ah, I can finally reach my feet!

4.5 months

Some new pictures of life lately! He is a happy, growing boy! He gets more and more curious about his surroundings everyday, and more and more verbal! Steve and I just laugh at him most of the time, he talks and sighs to himself constantly and makes the funniest faces. He is definitely teething...gross. Its very messy, lots of drool. No bumps have appeared yet on his gums, but I know it can take months.
His new favorite toy...just like daddy!

His favorite...chewing on toys while watching tv upside down. What could be better?

He loves to roll, but he can really only go from back to front. He played this way for awhile, until he realized that his arm was stuck! I also promise that my kid does wear clothes pretty much all the time...except for right before bed. Before I put jammies on he plays in just his diaper for a little bit, and he loves it! He cries when I put jammies on. :( I think he will like the summertime as much as I do!

I got him from his crib this morning and found him like this. Ha!

Once he woke up a little bit, he was happy to see me

New milestone...rice cereal!

It feels that everyday we are learning new things...and finally baby cereal! I had been on the fence since it's still early, but he hasn't been sleeping at night as well as he usually does, and we thought adding rice cereal onto his diet would maybe help him sleep longer. We will see if this works...but for now, we are just trying to focus on getting him to actually swallow the cereal. Ha, it's so funny. He seems to like it, he just isn't sure what to do with it yet.

Happy, happy

So happy all the time! Oh, he has his moments (usually when we are trying to eat dinner) but for the most part, he is happy as can be. It's so fun to watch him learning and growing everyday!

You caught me...I love blanket.

Hanging with daddy after a long day

Good morning!

Just love it when they poop out of their outfits within 5 minutes of just being changed! Well, he doesn't seem to care.

4 months and growing

I already feel like I need to have another baby, because the one I have is growing way too fast. We had his 4 month peds appt the other day, and here are our new stats: 16 lbs. 9 oz and 26.5 in long. Ridiculous! I can't believe how huge he is! The doctor said we could start cereal if we want....I am just on the fence about starting so early, although admittedly, I think he would really like food.

He is loving his hands right now, always putting them in his mouth. Some other newbies include rolling over (back to front) a few times and laughing. I can't get enough of his laugh, it is just too cute! Rolling over was caught on video randomly by my husband, thank goodness, because I was at work and missed it:( I hate missing things when I work! It does make me appreciate being home with him during the week so much more though.
MMM....this bib tastes good!

Mom, I'm napping. Leave me alone!

Loving the bumbo and burp cloth equally!

Ha, this was a panda from my grandmother....he is undecided if he likes it yet.

Don't worry, I think our days in the swing are over. This is how he insists upon sitting in the swing anymore...if his head is not literally hanging out the side of it, he's not having any fun.

Christmas continued

The Christmas celebrations continued the week following Christmas with my family in Lancaster. We got to spend time with everyone in the few days we were there, which was so much fun, yet exhausting. Unfortunately, Steve and I were sick most of the time (Steve is still not feeling well) but thank God Steven never got it! We have been so blessed with a healthy child! (knock on wood)

We were thankful we could go and spend time with everyone. Here are some pics of us with the fam in Lancaster!

Aunt Christine

Aunt Jenna teaching Steven how to play with the toy she bought him. It will conviently never need its batteries replaced.

Steven was grinning ear to ear sitting with his Grandad!

Hey, you, with the camera! I'm busy here!

Steven and Grandma

Hey, thanks for all the presents!

Steven and his Great-Grandma

Ha, all the ladies trying to get Steven to smile for a picture. Poor kid. I'd feel sorry for him, but he seems to love all the attention. I don't know where he gets it.

Great Aunt Karen and Steven bonding

Best pic we could get of us...mom and dad were sick and tired!
