The last few weeks, the abridged version

Our life has been turned upside down just in the last 8 weeks. Having a newborn at home has definitely redefined everything I've ever known. As a NICU nurse, I have some experience with babies, so I felt prepared with how to care for a newborn, etc. That part wasn't hard. In fact, the first two weeks felt ok! Even post c-section, I kept it together. I even loved being up to feed him at night! There were a few rough spots, but how can you get mad at the sweet little face? Then the sleepless nights inevitably catch up with you...and the tiredness sets in. Getting up at night becomes a chore, and you feel if you can get just maybe one more hour of sleep, it will all be worth it. And it is, sleep or no sleep.

When it comes down to it, this kid is our life. It never ceases to amaze me the amount of love that one can hold for such a tiny, new life. Every new thing that he does, or just watching him sleep, is wonderful. He is so perfect (who wouldn't say that about their own kid?) and worth the nine months of torture.

Here are just some pics to capture our experience thus far.
