We have been very busy! We had his first Thanksgiving in Lancaster, which was so much fun, and then I went back to work. I'm working just on the weekends, so I'm still around all week long (thank goodness!) but the downside is that I am missing some quality family time on the weekends :-( I'm starting to think that parenting is all about tradeoffs.

I was nervous going into the weekend, albeit excited to go back to work since I missed all my friends. It turned out to be a great weekend. Steven had a blast with his daddy all weekend and I survived taking care of other babies at work. The second night was harder for me, I missed him after only seeing him about 5 minutes the whole day. But, hopefully the rest of the weekends will go like this past one, quickly and easily!

 look at those thighs!
Sooo....daddy dressed him here. If you look closely, you can see a tag hitting him in the front (onesie on backwards!) not to mention that it nowhere near matches his pants and socks. All Steve had to say was, "I thought it was weird that the elbow pads were in the front. You said long sleeves!" At least he has clothes on :-)
Can't wait to go for a car ride!
Hey, you gonna keep taking my picture, or are we going on this car ride?
He slept a lot today, loving his swing, with his arms up just like this most of the time! His little hands were so cold when he finally woke up!

Fresh and Clean

Who doesn't love the smell of a fresh and clean baby? The smell is literally intoxicating to me. For years, I have been bathing babies at work, and loving that familiar smell. Finally, finally, I have one of my own! I love that he is mine after bath time and I can hold, rock, and sniff as long as I want. The best part is that he never seems to mind!

Squirmy McSquirmerson

I think that almost every single person who has ever held our child has said, "wow, he's a squirmy one!" And it's true. Awake or sleeping, Steven likes to move! Here is an example of how I found him this morning in his crib. Also, not the first time I've found him like this! No wonder he was screaming.

Usually he gets his arms out, but I guess I got him wrapped pretty tight and he just wriggled down. Jeez oh man, I'm in trouble!

Steven's Baptism

Wonderful weekend! Family and friends all came together to celebrate Steven's baptism this morning. My mom and Dave, sister Jenna and her husband Kris came from Lancaster just for the occasion! Many from Steve's family came also to help us celebrate the day. It was so great spending time with everyone. The baby was a champion today, napping through most of church and was just all around well-behaved ( some may not believe this, but we had a tough week with fussiness, etc, which he never shows in public). God has given us such a sweet gift in this small child. We just feel so blessed to have him in our lives!

He took it like a champ...he only cried a little bit!

2 months!

A little late...but here are our stats. 13 lbs 3 oz and 24 in long! Looking at him, he doesn't seem that big to me, but he is just one solid little boy. Over the last two weeks, he has become so much more social. He started smiling at others besides me, and loves, loves, loves his mobile in his crib and the one on his swing. He has somewhat of a serious personality, but he will still crack a smile for us most of the time. He still adores being held, but is getting better at going down for naps and bedtime on his own! We are having soo much fun with our little man!

I love these socks!
How can you not love this face?

Best First Halloween

Halloween was awesome this year! So different seeing it as a parent now...and we had a blast! We haven't dressed up at all for the last few years, and I never really felt I was missing anything. But it is soo much fun to dress up your own kid! I realized that this will most likely be the only year ever in his life that I can not only pick his costume, but he will not fight to take it off the whole time. That makes me so sad!

After church in the AM, we hit ZooBoo at the zoo (obviously) with Steve's sister and family, mom and dad, and cousins Marisa and Taylor. Cousin Lila (little miss cow in the pics) seemed to enjoy it way more than Steven...he barely woke up the entire time! We dressed our little man as a monkey, and he loved it! Ha! I bought this costume about a month before he was born, so I was so excited to finally get it on him. It was great and kept him wonderfully warm on the chilly day.

After we got home we passed out some candy to the neighborhood kiddos, which is the first time I've done this ever. I have always worked on Halloween or we've been out. It was fun to see so many kids! I cannot wait until we get to take Steven next year, who will be WALKING by then! Ah! It will be so different.

This has to be the cutest little monkey! I love it!

It was amazing that he did not seem to mind the headpiece...

Gram and Grandpa with the kiddos :-)
In the evening we went to a friends house to watch the Steelers game, hang out, and have some fun. Needless to say, the day completely wore this kiddo out because he slept SIX hours! That is a first! All in all, great first Halloween!
